Haircuts

So lately I have been into haircuts... Its summer so maybe the hot weather is whats making want to get a short cut. I stole my parents dog the other day and took her to the groomer ... here are some before and after cuts! Also my nephew visited Cedar for the day and I was put in charge so.... I took the liberty to get him groomed as well.....

YARD SALE

I did it! I can finally mark that one off the bucket list.

(Which reminds me I really need to be revising that list of mine.)

This past Saturday I finally held my first yard sale. Mostly because I kept saying I was going to do one, and I had all my stuff ready and my sister had all her stuff ready so it just needed to get it out of my garage!

It was very anti-climatic but fun none the less. And I spent the first half of it by myself but then my loving husband came and sat with me. Right after he showed up these two elderly women stopped by to do some browsing and they ended up hanging out until I decided to pack up.

Bob and I both decided that it is way more fun to go to yard sales then to host one so we made an executive decision that the next Jackson Yard Sale will be in about 10+ yrs

A death in the family........ correction 2 deaths :(

So as you may know Bagherra got sick last week, turns out she wasn't a survivor.... The chapter of my life when I drove a VW has officially ended.

This is her on her last day!

Also on Saturday a friend and I purchased a baby chick. (99 cents at Cal Ranch) After growing to love him we decided on the perfect name, Keith Bo Peep.

Due to some harsh winter temperatures Keith only lived a short 2 days!

Wow, Bagheera is failing me! (Thats my cars name for those of you that don't know)

So I had an almost, awesome weekend! I went to good old Wayne County. I got to see all my friends, and some of my favorite people ever!

However I worked on saturday so I didn't start my travels until pretty late. It took me forever to get there because of all the crazy deer on the road. I finally got there around midnight- thats okay though because I have some pretty awesome friends who stayed up and hung out with me.

Sunday came around and I went to church and that was cool, I ate at the amazingly good shak! I decided I had better leave pretty early so I wouldn't have to experience all the deer again...And I was running on 0 hours of sleep.
I ended up leaving Hanksville around 5. Right when I get to Loa (66 miles out of Hville) BAM, my car loses power!!!!
Guess what else? I don't have cell phone service... Apparently Verizon doesn't have the best all over coverage they claim to! Thats okay though because luckily I wasn't too far from the gas station so I went and used their phone. This is when I found out people in Loa are strangely nice! I had about 10 people there offering to tow my car, to drive me back to Hanksville, to call my insurance for me everything! Guess what else? My insurance doesn't have roadside.

After 3 hours of arguing with the tow truck driver about where to take my car I finally struck a pretty decent, no a really awesome deal with him, he ended up towing my car all the way to Cedar for $120 bones!

Long story short I made it home safe and it only took me 6 hours to do it! GO ME :)

Spring Break

So for those of you that don’t know me, you should know I love a good meet and greet. This past weekend was jam packed with meet and greets!!

Spring Break Ten started off very … BLAH. Working, sleeping, you know normal. On Friday though my break really started, we drove to SLC, as soon as we got there we got a couple meet and greets in- (A roomate and a cousin)... I like to call it a "twofer"-

All of us rode the lovely trax into downtown Salt Lake (we gotta roll in in style) and...

We went to the Jason Aldean concert! It was amazing!!!!

Zack got his guitar pick lucky duck.

Then on Saturday, I started the day off with a slew of meet and greets. Family members out the butt… Now usually a family member meet and greet (especially a mom) can be pretty nerve racking but this one wasn’t bad at all.

Anyway, we left the family to go to the wonderful hobby lobby (Pretty sure if there were one close enough I’d become an addict) After we got done cruising the crafts we got another long awaited meet and greet in (more of a blind meet and greet) which really could be awesome or horrible… in this case it turned out pretty good.

Then we went to the Jazz game!

The Jazz owned the hornets which was a little lame of a game but irregardless we won! Oh and we showed up 2 hours early so we got to see Kyle Korver rolling up in his Range Rover so that was pretty sweet.

The game got out and we went and got one last meet and greet in. (yet another “blind” m&g) that also turned out to be good, A great way to finish the weekend off…

There you have it my spring break weekend in a nutshell.

Happy Valentines Day!

So I had quite the Valentines day and I'd like to share it with all of you- But believe me this wasn't your grandma's Valentines day! My day started off pretty normal, slept in, drank some sunny-d, you know the us'. Around 11 my mom and dad said, "want to go to st. george?" I figure what they hey why not? What's another day of putting off homework right? Anyway so we get to St. George, pull into my sisters driveway but nobody was home. So my mom backs out and heads to the freeway... Confused yet? Because this is about the time I am completely lost. My mom chucks a paper into the back seat and when I opened it I saw a map - Destination: Four Corners, Arizona.

Now a little history about my dad, for as long as I can remember he has been wanting to take a "road trip" to Four Corners... Why? I don't really know. However my mom felt today was the day we would check this little adventure off his bucket list. May I just add the total travel estimate is 5 hours 41 minutes/332 miles.

Yeah so as I see this little sheet of paper full fledge panic sets in and for the first two hours I cranked my 'pod trying to not freak out. In case you don't realize this is nearly 12 hours in a car-- a car with my giddy parents mind you.

After some Black Eyed Peas therapy I decided to embrace the journey. I started enjoying the scenery, the relaxing ride, the jams all of it. I got to see some cool things, including Colorado City (Its true what they say by the way, none of the houses there are finished from what I can see) and I got to see the lovely Lake Powell! And standing in four states all at once seems pretty exciting right? Anyway needless to say the closer we became the more excited I got.

We arrive to Four Corners at 5:15 only to see this.....

"Open Daily 8am - 5 pm"

CRUSHED- a 12 hour car ride for nothing!!!!!

So after a week and a half I have come out with my working 2010 resolution list. Pretty cliche' to have one but I'm a cliche' kind of gal. I decided to keep it to five, however small it seems they are going to be hard for me but I want to "grow up" so thats what most of the focus is on....

1. I have to limit my infamous "immature nights" to one a month.
2. No more soda (This one is more-so to prove to myself I can do it)
3. No more swearing, because that's unladylike
4. Stop being such a creep (My impeccable memory makes me come off as a creep sometimes... so sue me)
5. Stop being so bossy, because nobody likes to be called bossy.

And there is my although I do have others but they are the same things I'm always striving to improve so I don't think it is unique to the 2010 res list.

You know when you say/do something and the second it happens it was the wrong thing to say or do. Well that has been happening to me a lot lately!

For example around Christmas time my friend and I were picking up some last minute presents. When we were finished in the store we were walking to the car and I opened up the door to the wrong car! We got a good laugh and life went on...

Yesterday I was waiting for that same friend to come pick me up from work, I saw the same make, same colored car pull up. I automatically assumed it was my friend. I walked up to the passenger side door but saw somebody was sitting there so I moved my way to the backseat and tried opening the door when I realized it was locked. The person sitting shotgun opened his door to see what I was trying to do when I realized it was the entirely wrong car! ......So needless to say I ran back into my office and waited for my real ride to show up.

Later that night my jam cru and I saw an acquaintance we had so we decided we were going to say hi. Well we spotted him in the parking lot and we sat there yelling his name.... lets just call him Jim. So we yelled his name for quite a while but apparently he didn't hear us because he hopped in his car and drove away. We decided that wasn't okay so we followed him home! When he got home and out of his car we pulled up next to him. He didn't recognize us so we figured we got the wrong guy. We had to double check though and here is the conversation we had....
"Hey are you who we think you are?"
"Who do you think I am?"
"Jim"
"No I'm not Jim"
"DANGIT!" and then we drove off....no sorries no goodbyes... Just Dangit

Okay so first day back to school in a long time. How did it go? Not bad... Except for some reason I thought I had miraculously grown up. False I did not the whole time I there I was thinking about how much I would rather be... well anywhere else.

I do love me some people watching though :)

Some random things that happened today:

First of all my first class was my natural hazards class. The professor is standing in the front of the class discussing all the many types of natural hazards there are; volcanoes, hurricanes, landslides, earthquakes those kinds of things. Next thing you know the room starts to shake. The professor stopped talking and said "What was that?" As a joke somebody shouted out, "Was that an earthquake?" Everybody started laughing and class went on. Come to find out it was an earthquake a 4.1 on the Richter Scale!

Also my Soc teacher told us this really sad but probably true statistic that really had me in awe. The number 1 fear in people is public speaking the number 2 is death. Now is it just me or is something wrong with that?

Well that was all the exciting things that went down on my first day of school.

Music is awesome!!! My sister and I were talking and we started discussing our top 5 favorite bands. I tried picking just 5 but it was WAY too hard so I changed my top 5 into a top 10... So here it is my 10 (In NO particular order)

As Seen On TV

Okay so usually I don't pay attention to all the "seen on tv" junk you can find although some of it is really cool looking, and don't get me wrong lots of people and their moms purchase a lot of this stuff its just not really for me. However I was watching TV one day and I couldn't look away from the ad about the cupcake that is 25 times the size of a regular one....

Why would you need something this big... a cupcake of all things?

So as many of you know I am privelaged enough to be employed at a bakery. Well one day I went into work and I saw this HUGE donut sitting there and I thought hey a donut 25 times the size of a regular one. Again why would you need something this big... a donut of all things?

So I know I have said this before and I'll say it again but I love Halloween. Everybody thinks oh its this big satanic, scary holiday lalala- No really it comes down to... People watching holiday. And that is one of my favorite things to do- I saw all sorts of amazing costumes. Some people old and young alike get so into their costumes and it makes me smile.

This year I decided to be a cat... duh! And when I say I decided I mean my boss decided for me- Turned out pretty uh... scary-

I worked with a bee and her roomate was the swine flu hehe kind of funny.

My personal favorite was my 5 year old neice.. She decided that she wanted to be a cow. When we asked her why a cow she said "because she is fluent in cow...MOOO!" The best part about this is that her friends at school have started calling her Cowlie instead of Callie. Well if there wasn't a problem with kids finding their own identities there is now and we owe it all to Halloween!

So although Halloween is only 1 day it is apperently acceptable to dress up all days in the month of October. That is why October is probably one of my favorite months (Well top 12 atleast)

As I was going home from work one day I saw a skateboarder dressed as Mario!

I get really excited over little things. So I had my friend pullover so I could get in a picture with him. Also we soon found out who "Mario" skateboards with ... Somebody else dressed up as Hitler. Hahaha too funny. However, Hitler doesn't like pictures so this is the only one we have.

I was at work the other day and an old high school teacher came in, and we stopped and visted for a while. He was asking me, what I was up to, how I had been blah blah blah, well then he said something that sort of made me upset. Not that he said it just what he said; he said... "Good news travels fast and bad news travels even faster!"

I think it made me upset because I realized how true that is. I wish that people would go and gossip about all the good people are doing instead all the bad people do. So thats what I'm going to be working on, spreading good news and not bad.

So I went on an awesome vacation!!!!!!

We went to Florida and went to the Disney World Theme Parks and I grew a new love (maybe obsession with Mickey)

I got to see all sorts of characters they were everywhere it was awesome :) Some of my favorites were Donald and Goofy (Apparently Donald shows some resentment towards Mickey...)
I didn't know Oprah was affiliated with Disney ... Of course I had to take a picture with her though...

I got to see giraffes!!!! They were definitely my favorite, I was like maybe 10 yrds from this one :)

Oh and I met some random people along the way... This was one of them... Weirdo :S

But my vacation isn't over yet... I still have a visit to the Florida beaches

Kudos Costa

So I'm sure many of you have seen the sign reading: "Coming soon Cafe Rio!" Yeah the one about two blocks from Costa Vida... I don't know how I feel about it, I mean anywhere they put it in Cedar its gonna be a pretty competitive resturaunt with Costa Vida right? Well those are my thoughts on the selected placement.

Well a couple weeks ago my mom was at Costa Vida trying to figure out what she wanted that day and couldn't decided. The C.V. worker said "What can I get for you?" My mom being the most indecisive person ever shouts out "Crap!" 'cause she honestly couldn't decide. In returns to that the Costa worker said "Oh well in that case you'll have to wait for Cafe Rio to open!"

Hahaha Kudos to you C.V. worker. Let everybody know about your bitterness to the incoming Cafe Rio

I love kids. Really they say the funniest things.
I was privelaged to stay the night with my sister and her 5 kids and can I just say it was lovely.

Some of my favorite quotes keep in mind I was there one day:

"Stop pouring milk in your eye!" (Why would you ever need to use that sentence?!?!?)

"I was a little apprehensive at first, but it turned out alright so I guess it was a good growing experience for me." (That was a 7 yr old in regards to the sleepover party she just had)

"My favorite animal is a chinchilla." (a what...?)

Well those are the top 3 I'd have to say- In short I think kids are great :)
Anyway I got to go the 4 year old needs the computer to check on his webkinz.

This is my nephew who is kicking me off the computer... Really? haha

Fact or Fibula

Haha first of all how gay is this title? (Oh my bad what is it were suppose to be saying now-a-days, My title is Emily and Julia- I don't know I'll knock it off)

Okay so two and a half weeks ago I broke my leg, my fibula to be exact, playing some ball, trippin' on curbs, being the clutz that I am. Let me tell you how horrible crutches are and I'm sorry for anybody who has ever or will ever be on them. I just wanted to express my hatred for them, no more stairs, hills, walks, even showers. :( The only comfort I have in this is my little brother has the constant need to one up me. So he went out on his long board and crashed breaking his elbow AND his hand :) Thanks Chub for making me realize I really don't have it THAT bad.
But the good news is I went and saw the doctor again for a friendly little check up and I'm healing nicely so I get to be off crutches and hobble along in a boot YAY ME!

This boot leads me into my next little story. So I get bored pretty easily and I have my trustee sidekick Zoie to tag along and be bored with me, so one enjoyable evening we were extra bored and went to check out redbox- While paroozing the movies we realized that there was nothing good to watch so instead we sat our gimpy butts down on the grocery stores display patio bench. While enjoying our people watching I saw a fellow "boot wearer" So being the friendly person I am I commented her nice boot thinking she would see mine and get a nice laugh. INSTEAD I got quite possibly the meanest look I have ever recieved. She looked at me like I had just told her she had an ugly baby or something... Really???

So here I am on Blog numero 2 and its only been a few short months later.

If your wondering what sparked this sudden interest of blogging...again... let me tell you about the morning I had. Here it is 10 am I'm in the middle of my deep sleep when I was rudely awoken by G (my rude black friend) She wanted to use me for my camera and the wonderful pictures I am capable of taking. So she made me get out of bed and get ready to go to the library.

When we got to the library and unfortunate for her we couldn't find the pictures we had taken of our awesome trip to St. Geezy. So instead we decided to improve my blogspot so here I am...

Maybe I will tell you about our trip. So we started off pretty late on our trek to St. George. We were going to hit up the mall which closes at 9 and then go play laser tag or something we didn't really know. Well we went to the mall and let me tell you I am an awesome salesman. G didn't know if she wanted to get the shoes she LOVED there or just wait to order them online. But then after the salesman working that day were useless I decided to step up and make them a sale. I mean they were only going to be open about 10 more mins. Yeah, I ended up talking her into buying her awesome shoes at the store and not waiting and guess what: they ended up being on a store discount so lucky her... So in short I am a good salesman so who knows maybe one day if I apply myself I'll be selling shoes at th

Anyway after leaving the mall that closed at 9 on a friday yes... We went to lasermania and tagged it up; with a bunch of kids that obviously play every weekend or maybe every night they arent having dungeon and dragons parties I'm not sure. Needless to say I was the low scorer and I got shunned by everybody else for not killing enough people but you know what... I had fun! So Give it up for Lasermania.

Okay most importantly I would like to give credit to Annie since she is who introduced me to this. So thank you Annie.

As you may know I work at a high school, some days I have NO clue why.
For example yesterday I ran, literally ran, to catch a school bus. I'm 20 years old a freakin' grown ass woman, you might wonder why catch a bus? Well... I own a car yes, however lets just saw VW might as well stand for Very Weak.

A couple days ago I went to your local mav. to gas up but my gas flap wouldn't open. So here I am lookin' like an incompetent female trying to gas up. Thankfully some guy who was there came to my assistance but he couldn't figure it out either. So now what... a car with no gas and no way to get gas into it. This may seem like quite a problem but don't worry its just one of MANY! So yes, I did what anyone else would do, caught a ride to school (high school) naturally my ride was running, "just a lil' late."

Anyway after boarding this school bus full of immature, hyper, high school punks- I mean kids. I heard a few shall I say random quotes I find blog worthy;

1. "The only reason I didn't want Obama to win was because I didn't want his daughters to be fatherless after he gets assassinated." Now that's a great way to support our countries new president don't you think?

2. "Hannah Montana makes me want to hit a baby in a face with a crow bar" I don't even know what to say about this one, I mean seriously?

You see its days like these that make me wonder WHY?
Don't get me wrong I like my job most of the time, I mean its basically getting paid to go to high school. Trust me the 5th year is definitely the best for any of you people out there considering it.
